RPDalton
I have a 2017 Dodge Journey with the 2.4L engine. The engine is seized and does not rotate. Does the entire engine and transmission come out the top or the bottom so I can split them apart? With the engine not being able to rotate, I cannot access the torque converter bolts to split them and just pull the engine.

Although it may seem like more steeps to do, it's far easier and less nerve wracking to drop it out the bottom. Either way, not a fun job.Good Luck and keep us posted as to how things go. 2late4u
RPDalton
It is unfortunate. The owner simply never checked the oil.
John/Horace
Maybe drop the oil pan and unbolt connecting rods. Could allow crank to turn again. larryl
RPDalton
That exactly what I did. Pulled the pan, unbolted a few rod caps and got it to rotate. John/Horace
