2.7L- journey to Australia
Hello fellow Journey owners.. We purchased our new Journey R/T 2010 model approximately 1 month ago. We were initially impressed with the dark window tinting on all rear windows, but always thought we'd tint the two front windows also.. We were told today by our window tinter that all of our rear windows offer no UV protection at all... Quite a concern when you are carrying children in the car and have beautiful leather seating... Our two front windows are now tinted in a UV safe tint. We enquired about getting a UV safe film fitted to all rear windows to protect our children and interior and will cost about $250 to get it done. Not sure if what I have been told is correct or not by our window tinter.. Just thought I'd put it out there for discussion and feedback in this forum.... I am not too sure about the factory window tint if they protect from UV rays but I know the after market window tint due offer it. When I purchased the vehicule i asked the dealer to tint all windows to a level similar to my G6. One thing you could due is on a sunny day is to sit in the back and feel how much heat is coming in and role the window down and see if feels different. If it doesn't then I don't think it offer too much protection. I know with after market you can tell the difference. But this depends on the level of tint you purchase. Here in edmonton canada I think they have 5 different levels and 5% being limo tint, I have 12% on all back windows and the front I do not remeber but i thought it was around 30%.
