Windancer
I would like to hear other's opinion on the GPS system used in our Journeys. I was looking at a video of a 2011 Journey. One thing I noticed and especially like is the migration from Navteq to Garmin for the Nav System. IMHO and from personal experience this is a vast improvment. I have a Garmin Nuvi 255 that seems to have much better maps than the Journey's Navteq maps. I paid for the lifetime upgrades ($120) for my Garmin and I get updates 4x per year. I just bought a onetime Navteq upgrade ($200) for my vehicle and it's map is not as new as the Garmin. I live in a new area of my city, the Garmin map shows my streets while the Navteq map doesn't. I am quite familiar with GPS's, having 3 of them along with one for my many cameras. I was just curious to hear some other points of view regarding the Nav system in our cars. Regards Terry ****************************** Anything would have to be an improvement over Navteq. I think their software is as about as bad as it is possible to get. I also have a Garmin GPS (Zumo450) with NuMaps and their's is far better than Navteq's. In fact, I still use my Zumo most of the time in the Journey. brmurph
I agree the Garmin is way better then the factory nav but for me it is because Garmin is much more user friendly . You said you did the $200.00 update did it change the GPS any (make it more user freindly) or did it just update the map? Sorry can't answer your question on the new Journeys. Thanks
