stevensdSXT
Just took my new (new to me) 2010 white sxt on a road trip for the past few days in the desert (borrego) and then through julian ca, was AWESOME! Couldn't believe how much stuff we were able to fit in the car, and how many cool little compartments it has in it. Love the sound in the car, handling, power & storage. Of course there are things I'd like the car to have (leather, tv screen, etc etc) but for 16k I am STOKED with my Journey, so far I've been lovin it
stevensdSXT
Update: 10/8/11 - Well unfortunately over the past 8 1/2 months my story has changed A LOT!!!!!!!!! I would say about two weeks after the problems started - 1st issue: very loud squealing when coming to a stop, turning & accelerating (very embarrassing driving around town)...took it in, dealer said nothing was wrong......took it in again....dealer said nothing was wrong....took it in AGAIN and they STILL could not figure out what was wrong with it, and I had to do a ride along with a technician b/c it was as if they just didn't believe me then he finally hears it. Second big issue - so in an attempt to fix the squealing they realize oh gee, there has been a recall on the brakes that went out several months before (how NOBODY knew this the other times I went in is absurd) so they change the front brakes and rotors and this costs 168$ with the partial coverage from Dodge (still absurd in my opinion that I had to pay anything for their mistake). So I take the car home thinking it's fixed, NOPE it's still squeaking, I take the care in AGAIN, they can't figure it out, and then I wait a couple weeks and its still getting worse and now squeaking very loud all the time so FINALLLLLLY they realize they need to oil up the calipers which actually solved the problem for about a month. Now the squeaking is happening again and very loud. Another major problem, cars traction light won't stop coming on and engine light is on...Kinda suspicious this happens one day after taking the car in to get the oil changed. Costs 250$ Other issue comes up - key fob is cracked, they say its 260 to replace it but then that I could buy a used one offline for less money and have them program it. I wait a week and a half until my fob replacement comes, take it in and they VERY rudely say NOPE can't use a used key fob, "why did you buy that? you can't use a used key". Blah Blah Blah I cave and get a new key. On my ride home my car is suddenly making a VERY loud grinding noise now when braking (OH MY GOD R U SERIOUS?) I take the car in AGAIN and they say AGAIN nothing is wrong with the car? REALLLLY very loud grinding noise when braking and you can't figure out what is wrong with it??? AHHHH!!!!!!! So I dunno, I pick up the car and I'm like ok whatever I guess.... Next day drive to work, get off work, CAR WONT START!!! (Again suspicious as this was one day after getting it out of the shop) Tow the car into the dealership (3rd visit on ONE WEEK) and they say the battery is fried and have to replace it at $250!!! OH MY GOD!! And to top all of this off the dealership has the nerve to tell me that the squeaking is just going to keep on happening, that they can oil the caliper but that it'll just start happening again? WHAAAAT If you are reading this and you are lucky enough to have not yet purchased this car DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!! It is an absolutely worthless piece of SH*T !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in the process of trying to fight with Dodge to get them to buy the car back, this is the biggest financial nightmare ever, I hate this car SO MUCH and I ABSOLUTELY will NEVER EVER BUY AN AMERICAN CAR AGAIN!!!! We complain that nobody wants American made products and this is the SH*T we are producing? NO wonder why nobody wants our SH*TTY cars. ......
