Altestry
My mom’s 2017 SXT V6 has had its battery and alternator replaced, we replaced them because of a loud grinding noise and the car was dying. Now the car doesn’t die but the grinding noise is still there and when a load is applied the voltage drops a significant amount when I was doing the test the car got put in battery saving mode. larryl
So if the grinding noise is still there it wasn't either one of those. Did you replace the IBS sensor? That can cause voltage issues along with relays the TIPM and ground straps Could your water pump be going out?
2late4u
or the belt tensioner and or idler pulley as well, have it checked out for the noise problem first try using a eng stethoscope/long screwdriver against different engine parts that might be making the noise...after you find the problem, that should let your battery charged back up unless the new alternator is not working properly,,even new parts can be bad

I believe it might be the Ibs sensor, all the electronics are freaking out when battery gets low. Also the grinding noise happens intermittently

Also the grinding noise happens intermittently I do believe its NOT the IBS sensor,, FIRST find the noise /grinding that is your main problem and yes if your running the battery down the electronics will act crazy.when it is running have the alt checked at your local parts store to see if its putting out the correct charge also .check your idler arm pulley and the belt tensioner for the grinding noise before replacing the IBS as it is expensive part,,do the cheap or free stuff before throwing parts at the journey,,,also please report back on what you find to be the problem /solution for others to learn from...good luck Edited Monday at 01:12 AM by 2late4u

2late4u
since you said the alt and the battery has been changed and then the prob developed I would also check your battery cables to make sure they are clean AND tight we had one person complain of some problems and then later on said m bad one of the cables wasn't tight making intermittent contact causing their problems, it is can be the simplest and and hardest problems to find loose connections and bad grounds as well on dodges
