gear shift linkage arm assembly 2010 2.4l

Recommended Posts

I had to remove the gear shift arm lever assembly. I believe that is the name. it attaches to the shift or lever that goes into the valve body. I disconnected the metal plate that goes around the shaft and removed the nut while holding the screw with pliers to remove it and removed the screw that threads in the shaft.   how do I get the the metal plate back on the shaft. I tapped up with a hammer to remove it. do I hammer it back on? also the screw that threads on top of the shaft. not sure what it holds down as the metal plate opening is much larger but not sure if I am missing something and confused. thanks
