fmpkozik
Have a 2017 Journey STX with a 4 cylinder. The heat blows cool and the passenger side and hot on the driver's side. I replaced the door inculcator for the recirculate which was clicking loud and the one for the heat on the passenger side. Still acting the same way. My next step was changing the two thermostats. Approximately a 40-degree temp difference until the engine coolant temp reaches about 150 degrees, then it will be warm on the passenger side and plenty hot on the driver's side. Any ideas? 2late4u
if you are getting hot air on either side and cold on the other its either the blend doors OR the heater core as it has 2 different zones inside it,,good luck
5rebel9
40*f ???? you have a HEAT WAVE !!!! My area as of right now is 4*f HOT {good} heat drivers side} and COLD {poor} heat passenger side is classic HEATER CORE internal sludge build up. Due to the way the heater core is positioned, the best way is to replace it. Unfortunately a rather expensive job if done by the "book". Being "down South" you MAY get lucky and restore heat with a good flush of the heater core. Many You Tube videos can be found for "how to's" including cutting the supply/return lines under the dash and splicing the new core with 5/8: ID hose IF you are a DIY type. Good Luck! 2late4u
I believe they were referring the 40 degree temp difference to the engine warming up from cold to hot,,,,not their temperature outside,,but yes heater core time either flush or replace,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,anyways replacing the thermostat will be a waste of time as drivers side is getting hot heat,so not a thermostat problem Edited 1 hour ago by 2late4u 5rebel9

But to the posting heere , yes that kind of temp difference between sides is a plugging up heater core.
