My impressions thus far

So bought our 2009 Dodge Journey in Feb 2010 and we have about 12k miles on so far. When i bought the car/suv, i was not even in the market, but the dealer had such a good deal on the left over 09's it was hard to resist. I took it for a drive and I feel in love with it. It is so dang smooth! and all the features made is hard to say no. I ended up getting the Journey for 24K, it is the R/T with leather, NAV, rear seat video, Tri zone A/C heater system, 7 passanger, chrome wheels, back up camera, all LED lighting inside, heated seats. The only option's it does not have is the AWD and Sunrroof. So needless to say it has everythig and we love it! Alos the Lifetime warrenty is a big plus!

We have taken three trips so far, one to Veges, camping trip and to Disneyland and every time I get about 26 mpg on the trip(excpt the Veges trip, had 7 adults and luggage on the roof) it is very confortable and roomy.

The onl down side is the trips to the dealer. So far I was able to get most warrenty work done when it was in for Oil changes. I will just list what has been fixed;

1. Rear brakes and roters needed to be replaced at 3600 miles(new MOPAR pads and Rotors)

2. Rattle from the rear seating area was fixed

3. Radio just quite, nothing just fan running? the radio was just dead, dealer reset and all has been fine.

4. Idle tessioner wet bad and needed to be replaced. (this helped the slight vibration when the A/C is running)

5. Driver window quite, new switch and module.

6. Front brakes where down to metel @ 11200 miles. (New MOPAR Rotors and pads) Since this last brake job, the brakes feel 100% better.

The biggest issue for me to accept is the brakes? How can a new car need brakes so soon? Every other Chrysler product I have owned seems to go 50k miles or more before needing brakes. I was told by the dealer the some of the early 09's had bad brake pads. So I hope to get better millage out of the new ones. Brake dust is almost not an issue now, so i think they where right.

I plan one driving this car for a long time, it just is so right sized and packed with lots little goodies. I love the rear Video, was fun when we where camping! :)

Happy to hear that you are enjoying your ride and I own the 2010 sxt and I think is a nice car.And about the brakes I think all the journey have this problem but I'm not sure about the 2011 model.I had to replace the front bake pads and rotors to after only 12000 km.

I read on here similar problems by a lot of people and if you want this problem to stop repeating you need to get after market pads and rotors or other wise it will be repeating all over again.

Yes, there was a brake wear issue with the Journey's. I had to replace the front pads on our '09 SXT at 22K miles, but Chrysler eventually reimbursed me for the repair. The original brake pad supplier did not compress the pad material correctly resulting in premature wear. The replacement pads were wearing well and had much less brake dust than the originals.
