rlwarner78
I have a 2011 journey crew with the media center 640 radio. I have used the USB port to hook up my ipod and it works great, I also have a 500GB external hp pocket drive hard drive with 45,000 songs. When i plug that in nothing happens? Any ideas? drb227
If there is a power light on the drive, does it light up when you plug it in? Could be that the USB port doesn't have enough power to power a hard drive.

UPMedic
It's also possible that it isn't set up to recognize that large of a size. I've read about some systems having maximum amount of gig's they're able to read... <shrug> I have a 1 TB external hard drive that connects via USB and has it's own power supply... Hmmm.... I should try it sometime. Then again, I have the 8.4n, so, not sure if that makes a difference, too.
SaskGuy
This is only an assumption on my part, but.... Maybe the hard drive would have to be reformatted as a FAT32 file type??? I had to do that with an external hard drive that I hooked up to my PS3..
