brockpsu
I'm second ownerof an 09 Journey V6 with 24,XXX miles on it. Tranny shifts gears very hard. Do you think it is normal, and I need to get used to it? Or can it be reprogrammed? Thanks for your help!!
Alan Sex
I'm second ownerof an 09 Journey V6 with 24,XXX miles on it. Tranny shifts gears very hard. Do you think it is normal, and I need to get used to it? Or can it be reprogrammed? Thanks for your help!! I have a 2009 R/T - V6 of course. Took it into the dealer at 52500km and told them it was shifting hard - especially at 3-4 gear. The charged me $80 to tell me there was nothing wrong with it. On to 55500km - tranny is completely blown... Journey in the shop getting a new tranny under warranty, and I will be demanding my $80 back! Alan Sex
In the shop for two weeks - it's better, but now hard shift from R to D - and misses a gear or two until it warms up. Grr.
Alan Sex
And then... later this morning the tranny went completely. Again. Back in the shop for another two weeks, I presume.
Alan Sex
Yep, part is to arrive on the 31st - they are changing the whole tranny assembly. Can't get a loaner vehicle out of them though.
Germax
I read a lot of transmission problem here on the forum. Mine went in this morning as well. Shifting back from 2 to 1 is sometimes giving a big "clunk". Like being hit from the back. Shop told me that they are looking into the issue, and that shifting is not normal (although They could not reproduce the problem). I am not sure what the problem will be, but I am sure that the shop will do its best to keep me satisfied. Sofar they have been good to the Journey and the Avenger, and I have been good for them since they serviced these cars for the last couple of years. Had some exhaust valves and cylinderhead replaced as well about 10.000 miles ago, and this is holding up very well.
Germax
Mine is fixed, got a new compounder in the gearbox and I guess it is better. Did not take it for a long journey jet, next week about 1000 miles, we will see what will happen.
Germax
Had it our last week, and also this week. Did not feel the same troubles but do feel shift chances in cold condition when changing gear specially from 1 to 2. Will keep it mind, and will keep the dealer informed. We have 100.000 miles warranty, I am OK with that.
