Hi all:

My first time here!

And of course i have a question:

My 2010 Dodge Journey SE, purchased last August is at 10,276 miles..

last Saturday went for it's 3rd oil change ( 3,500, 7500 and now 10,000) they are included on my payment plan.

Thing is, this last time i was told i need to do:

air cleaner filter / throttle body housing decarbonization cleaning/fuel injector service cleaning/engine crank case internal cleaning desluge / envirolution flush.

All for a mere $900 plus...

is this normal maintenance? or these ppl are trying to get one over me?

appreciate a feedback.

Many Thanks

I'm pretty sure they are hosing you... Dump in a can of injector cleaner every 3-4000 miles. Regular oil changes and air filter once in a while.

If they insist on doing this service, I would ask to cancel the service plan so I could pay for my oil changes elsewhere.

I have a 2005 caravan with 120,000 Km that wouldn't need all that crap.

I agree with Saskguy. Air cleaners need to be changed at 10,000 mile intervals if dirty. Injectors about every 30,000 to 40,000 miles. Check your owners manual and see what it says about service intervals. I do change the oil every 4000-5000 miles and that is using Mobil 1 synthetic. It probably is good for 10,000-15,000 between oil changes but I like to keep the oil clean. Sounds like those "included" oil changes are going to cost you a lot of bucks.

Thanks so much for clarifying this, i also spoke with some friends / co-workers and they said the same.

They do not make $$ out of me with the oil changes the service contract, so they try and get me another way.

Much appreciate your help.
