LyndaCorsetteStafford
I have the same problem, nothing in the manual to help, going back to the dealership. If you find out how to fix please let me know Thanks I've had the same problem - THREE times. The dealer has replaced the amplifier twice, and it just blew again today. Dealer's solution is to keep putting more amps in..hoping we can figure something else out.

dodgefan
Well I took the car to the dealer today, they need to replace the amp, and is no order. They just called and said I should have it back tomorrow. Glad I have the gold service plan as they brought a rental car to me at the dealer...free of charge, which was a nice surprise. 20journey11
Just got back from the dealer. They told me the amplifier was locked up. The 2011 Journeys are having this problem. They hooked up the computer and unlocked it. All sounds are back and working fine.
dodgefan
I picked up the car from the dealer yesterday, they had to replace the amp. Apparantly the wires were "pinched" under the seat and cause it to short out. Installed new amp and all it is good.

Powdered Toast Man
There is a TSB out on this for a Rapid Response repair. It's code RT 11-066. The fix is to replace the amp. When I had mine in for an oil change the dealer just went and ordered the new amp. Took a couple weeks to come in and then I brought the car back and they swapped the part. I hadn't even had any problems - they just did it as a preventative measure since there is a TSB. THIS SERVICE BULLETIN IS ALSO BEING RELEASED AS RAPID RESPONSETRANSMITTAL (RRT) 11-066. ALL APPLICABLE UN-SOLD RRT VIN's HAVE BEEN LOADED. TO VERIFY THAT THIS RRT SERVICE ACTION IS APPLICABLE TO THE UN-SOLD VEHICLE, USE VIP OR PERFORM A VIN SEARCH IN TECHCONNECT. Frenchy
hi i had the same problem three times...finally they downloaded a new progrmme code into the computer moduel and the problem now is fixed. Hello, I have a french version of Journey (SXT not RT) bought in 2008 and I face a problem which seems to be close to your problem. My dealer made an upgrade of my sound system (DVD pack) everything was ok, but some days ago I turn on the car and lose the radio sound BUT only radio (BT ok, DVD ok, HD ok...). Do you think it can be the same root cause as on the RT version (ampli)? Can someone tell me what's the colour of the connector because I have several ones under the passenger seat (hoping US and FR version are the same). But not sure it can solve my issue as I already unplugged the car battery without success? Thanks
fivepack
I have been following this post because I have the problem with no AM/FM radio in the morning with my 2011 Journey. We've had a pretty mild winter and until recently the morning temperatures have not been below 25F or so. My car was in for service for the dead battery issue, and it may actually now be fixed. The dealer in total applied three software fixes and replaced the amp on the radio because apparently all of these came up when he put in my VIN (one of the fixes was supposed to fix the dead battery). The next cold morning, I found that I have satellite radio only -- no AM/FM. Took it back to the dealer, but got a "no problem found" -- the night temp did not drop below 32F. I made an appointment to bring it back next week, since we have a forecast for some cold nights.
20journey11
Same thing with mine. No AM/FM but had sound from satelite, CD, and bluetooth. Shut the car off and restart, and sound would come on.The dealer thought no power going to the antenna. Antenna tested good. They had all kinds of equipment hooked up to the radio for two days. They had to prove the radio was bad before Dodge would replace it. They currently have a new radio on order from Dodge.

It says it can happen in all radio modes but doesn't always happen in all modes (am/fm/sat) at the same time. This specifically says no codes will be found. NUMBER: 08-018-11 REV. fivepack
Thanks Dodgecares. I wound up cancelling my appointment, since the advisor said they will not look at it unless the radio is acting up when I bring it in. The problem is intermittant and was NOT happening on the day of my appointment. Of course, it happened again right after that. And I just have not been able to get over to the dealer when it does happen. It does not help that after 20 minutes or so the FM comes on. The dealer is 15 minutes from my house, and unless the advisor will hotfoot it out to my (still running) vehicle, it is unlikely it will STILL be not working when he gets there (sigh). Like another poster said, I tried restarting the car, and that usually works. But I don't think that is a viable long-term solution. I will ask the dealer to check the bulletin you mentioned. Of course, that means taking ANOTHER day off from work....

When they look at it in the morning it will be cold and hopefully they can duplicate the problem. If they will not give you a courtesy rental for a re-occuring problem then call the Customer Assistance Center and tell them you need one due to your work circumstances. 800-992-1997 United States 800-465-2001 Canada
