zack
Not sure if this should be in the interior section, but I do get a little water in the small trough in the sunroof area inside the Journey. I have had the Journey for 2 months. When I take the car to a high pressure, touchless carwash near my home, I get a little water in the trough of the sunroof. The last week has seen alot of hard rain in Southwestern Ontario and every time it rains, the trough has been dry. Therefore, only in high pressure car washes have I had problems and it only a very small amount of water. I hate the idea of taking it to the dealer as they may make the matter worse in trying to fix it. Does anyone else experience this problem with the sunroof or should I bring it in. This is the first vehicle I have had with a sunroof and I just want to hear from other Journey owners if they are havinfg the same issue, or is it an issue at all. Armendegga
I believe that almost all issues with the sunroof leaking have to do with the drain holes being plugged/clogged. Try opening the sunroof all the way, and sticking your head through the sunroof and see if you can locate the drain holes and make sure they aren't clogged. After unclogging, take a small amount of water (from a glass or something), and pour it into the trough and see if it drains correctly. Actually went through the wash again and can feel where the water is entering through the seal. Again, water leaks just as the high pressure hits the area, so it is a small amount for a couple of seconds. When I got home, took the garden hose to it and not enough pressure for the water to come through the seal.
Debra
I brought a brand new 2013 Dodge Journey RT August 19th 2013. Rained, guess what got wet, sunroof leaks. Took it back to Gary Mathews Dodge, Clarksville Tn. After the service department looked at it I was told all sunroofs leak. So I waited till the next rain came, leaked again, this time blew in on my mother which was riding with me. Long story short, I have owned the vehicle less than 90 days, been in shop several times and I am stuck with a new vehicle that leaks. By the way, I did contact the customer care number, they was no help at all. At this point I'm willing to try anything. Does anyone have any help for me? I will never own another Chrysler product! Debra I have owned several vehicles with sunroofs and have lived in rainy areas (Vancouver, Canada) and have not had any issues with leaks unless the drains were plugged. In fact, I have one vehicle that is 16 years old and have never had any problems with leaking. I would go back to the dealer and demand that it is fixed. Maybe DodgeCares can step in and give his advice.
bigtsr
"all sunroofs leak" = sorry service dept. It could be as simple as the drains in the sunroof gutters are blocked and the dealer should know where they are and test/clear them - take it to another dealer and call Chrysler National customer service to open a complaint file. MeaghanAdams
We're having ongoing issues with our sunroof in our 2013 Journey R/T- it's leaked three times since we bought it in September 2013. Debra
Looks like there are several forums going on out there. I have inserted the link to some more sunroof problems. The only thing that I can say is I brought my Journey on August 19th 2013 and the Journey has been in the shop more than what I have had the chance to drive it.. I am so disappointed, a part of me wishes that I had never purchased it. If you ask the question, does the sunroof leak before you buy the Journey you are told no. After you buy the Journey and you take it back to the service department you are told, well the Journey has been designed to leak. Maybe Chrysler Dodge needs to find out from there service managers which lie they are telling the customer. These service managers are running people away from this product and that's sad. A year from now we will hear that Chrysler is in trouble again and they will pretend they don't know why. My husband just got a call and was told that my Journey has been fixed and it is ready for pickup one more time. Wish me luck! I will update you as to what happens at the end of the week when it rains.... http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/4566-2013-rt-sunroof-problem/page-5#entry33759
oneframe
I am experiencing some sort of leak only from a high pressure touch less wash coming from the sunroof as well. Just one or two minute drops. Otherwise, any strong rain, no problems for now. The fit and finish of the Dodge Journey is not exactly something to be proud of, I'm ashamed at times with the Dodge executives who gave it a go how it was able to pass final inspection. The fit and finish of my 2014 is superb. In fact, most of the lines (inside and out) are tighter than very high end vehicles... rolly

I've always avoided high pressure car washes when I have my 300M which had a sun roof. Some washes apply so much direct pressure that it will actually move and fold the rubber seals and cause a leak. I hope that's not the case here however your dealer can identify why it's leaking, good to check the drain tubes as @bigtsr mentioned. Of course the price difference is night and day. So in my case I get what I pay for.
