PissedSXTowner
Hey folks, Has anyone had to change the damn wheel bearings on the Journey's yet? After 3 brake jobs and a bunch of other electrical crap, now the front wheel bearing is gone and they want $500 to replace it. Mileage is 61,000 miles. What gives?? larryl
I had both of mine replaced-one was due to a seized caliper causing it to overheat & fail around 63000 miles-110000klms As a side not I have the extended warranty so I did not pay anything
PissedSXTowner
I had both of mine replaced-one was due to a seized caliper causing it to overheat & fail around 63000 miles-110000klms As a side not I have the extended warranty so I did not pay anything Thanks Larry. The corpse at the dealer service counter said that although the car is still under powertrain warranty, that this wouldn't be covered as it's "more of a brakes and tires thing". I'm at 99035kms, so just under the wire if it was to be covered under warranty. Shouldn't it be covered by warranty, I don't put a tire or brake pad in the same class as a steel bearing? larryl
Wheel bearings have nothing to do with brakes-the hub also holds the cv shaft is that "brakes" also? I dont think so Your dealer is a dink
EMSBronco
I've had both front wheel bearings replaced. Passenger side at 53,000 and covered under the drivetrain warranty. The driver side was at 81,000 and the dealer refused to cover it under the warranty. They said they were wrong when they covered the first wheel bearing under warranty and that it definitely was not covered. That came from the Service Manager.
