Wahootie
Has anyone had issues with paint peeling off the mirrors on the Journey? I know this has been a problem in the past with Dodge. The blue paint on the passenger side mirror began flaking off about a month ago. It now is about halfway off the mirror. In a quick phone conversation with the service department, it is "out of warranty" of course, even though the car is only 2 years old! Armendegga
Hasn't happened to me as of yet, though it's only 6 months old right now.
MattStoddard
My 09 Started that a few years ago. I had to pay the $100 deductible for the lifetime I purchased to have it fixed. It started 1 year after purchase at 12k miles. I just stopped washing the car and it has not gotten any worse.

mikeymouse
My '09's mirrors went from a small chip to about the size of a 50 cent piece now. Still bubbling and peeling. Surface is too smooth for the paint to stick.
sebrooks00
My 2009 started peeling about 4 months ago. I took it to the Dodge dealership and though feed me some crap about it was hit by another car and cracked the paint, but it never has been hit nor has a scratch or dent on the mirror. I wouldn't necessarily dismiss the argument they made about it being hit by another vehicle. It could have been involved in an incident during delivery or even at the factory. I bought a vehicle in 1974 that had been repaired after someone had scraped the side during removing it from the delivery transport. I only found out months later when applying a coat of wax which highlighted the uneven paint. The company rep who investigated my complaint found the cover up. It may be possible for someone check the codes for your vehicle to see if any incident was recorded. I'm sure Dodge Cares can help.
Rubberdude88
Ditto. Terry I know this looks really nice but I believe this may well accelerate the bubbling / peeling process by trapping condensation behind the covers. I think the best process is to wrap them with a high quality vinyl like a 3M product if you want them different than the body color. In the spring I may wrap mine in 3M Di-noc carbon fibre vinyl. So far I have not experienced any paint peeling - touch wood.
