2011mainmango
Hey guys, I don't know if you remember me but my dad turned in his 2010 journey se 2.4 corporate lease to lease a 2011 mainstreet. All i have to say is, after about 5+ months and 6000 miles this car couldn't be better. My dad drives it most of the time, but I drive it once in a while. Some things to note... -the ride is firm, yet very comfortable, in old journeys feel like your riding in a cloud, this actually feels like a sport tuned suspension -the steering is responsive, it's not light, you get direct feedback and the steering wheel in general has an awesome luxurious feel -the transmission at first, even now when the car is cold, is very laggy, but when the engine is all warmed up and running, there is no lag in shifts. Also when you hammer down in the journey.. OMG this thing is a monster, it goes through shifts like no other and does not lose many rpms. -the interior is great, the door panels are wrapped in a two tone leather and the seats give very nice support, the back seats could be more comfortable but I rarely sit there so i'm not complaining. -the led lights in the back at night look amazing!! a huge step up from the previous models. -gas mileage is great compared to the 2.4, this engine is perfect for the weight of the journey, my father averages 27 mpg and that includes about 20 miles of stop and go traffic and 25 miles of highway. so once broken in, it does very well on fuel economy -THIS IS A FAST CROSSOVER, when driving this machine you are in the top 10% of fastest cars on the road, it can be fun to use the autostick at times just get a little more enjoyment. -so far no quality problems, just had an oil change done at 5000 miles, i don't expect anything to go wrong either. -the uconnect 4.3 is a great STANDARD system, i'm very impressed with it, very user friendly and nice features. -the interior at night looks amazing because you have illuminated cup holders and everything in the IP with a eerie light blue glow which looks great. -I LOVE the rear fascia, the rear diffuser gives the car a sporty look and so do the dual exhaust tips, I also like the front air dam, it gives the journey a mean look!! -it's great for long trips, comfortable, easy to keep straight on the highway and VERY QUIET at high speeds. Overall guys, I'm very impressed with what chrysler accomplished in the 2011 model year and the journey is one of those under the radar projects that not many people know about. My dad couldn't be happier with his lease, now granted he's prolly going to lease a new vehicle in the next 6 months, but he won't be complaiing the rest of the time he has his 2011 journey. shoot me any questions that you guys might have and i'll be glad to answer
2011mainmango
oh yea, and another thing i forgot to add. This thing doesn't lose speed very easily, so let's say I see a light is red a half mile ahead, I will just let go of the accelerate and the car loses speed very slowly, meaning that I can let off the gas pedal at a great distance away from stopping. This does not only mean better fuel economy, but you are also saving your brakes. Drive smart America (and Canada) if you see a red light or stopped cars ahead, don't keep accelerating, let your car cruise to a stop. this is one reason my father averages 26mpg both city and highway driving, mind you the epa estimates JUST HIGHWAY MILEAGE ALONE at 26mpg, so when you drive smart, you get results and you SAVE YOUR BRAKES!!
