first journey with the Journey

So. A couple of weeks ago, we had to go up to Macon, GA for a doctor's appointment. I worked it out so I would have an extra off day at work... and we went up to Helen, GA.

During the trip, we saw a solid 24.7mpg return... with my lead-foot. The 3.6 provided ample power to propel the Journey up the rolling hills of N.GA with nary a whimper. The transmission which is normally at home did hunt gears a bit. Switching to "manual" mode resolved that. I kept the engine in the 2,000+ range and the car felt like a rocket ship. At one time, I was playing tag with a Jaguar and Porche Panamera on the winding GA-17 north of Helen. It was a great trip. The standard "coolers" in the floor kept our drinks cold. The rear cargo area swallowed our stuff and I could still see out the windows!

Taking a pause on GA-348 at an overlook
