Anybody know when the heated mirrors come on? Just wondering if they came on with rear defrost, front defrost, or certain outside temp.. I didn't see anything in the manual.

20,

DRB is correct.

Heated Mirrors — If Equipped

These mirrors are heated to melt frost or ice. This

feature is activated whenever you turn on the rear

window defroster. Refer to “Rear Window Features” in

“Understanding The Features Of Your Vehicle” for further

information.

do the icons on the side mirror light up when defrosting is activated? or is it there just to say that's a feature?

Ricky,

They do not light up on the mirror. If the rear defrost light is on the heated mirror should be functioning as well.

You know, that wouldn't be a bad idea . . . have the icons glow when the heaters are enabled . . . and it wouldn;t hurt to also tie the mirror heater to ambient temperature as well - you don't get condensation on the mirror for the same reason you do on the back window. No need to turn on the mirror heaters unless ambient is below freezing.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but the rear defroster must tied into an exterior ambient tempature sensor because it comes on with remote start. I'm guessing since the mirrors are tied into the same circuit they come on as well. Dodge/Chrysler mini vans had a defroster grid under the front wipers would have been nice to have across the line (at least as an option).
