New here....Transfer Case Leaking AWD

Hello everyone. I'm new here on this forum (been lurking, but this is my first post). Took ownership of an SXT AWD Journey on May 10th. Started hearing squeaks coming from the driver side rear, and as noted in this forum, turned out to be an easy fix. This past weekend, I noticed a distinct smell of burning oil. Checked under the car and found some oil, but couldn't see where it was coming from. Called the dealership to make arrangements to have it brought in. Turns out my less than a month old Journey is leaking gear oil from the transfer case and the WHOLE unit needs to be replaced from a part that has to ship from Sweden (according to the dealer). The funny thing is, another AWD Journey was also in the service dept. for the exact same issue.

Don't get me wrong, I loooooooooove my Journey, but methinks I might have to persuade the dealer to throw in a little more on this car.. maybe a radio upgrade lol. After all, it just seems like I shouldn't be having these issues on a $28k car. :(

My Journey is only two weeks old with 300 miles on her and it's leaking fluid from the transaxle. I brought it into the dealership and they told me that the transaxle was over filled. My question to them was how and where was the fluid leaking from. I'm waiting for a reply. Sounds like I'm getting the run around. I'll keep you posted.

Just got the call from the dealer. The mechanic said the fluid was comming from the breather valve on top of the transaxle. If it was over filled that would be a possibility. Hopefully that's all it was.

Update on my situation.

I talked to the dealer today. Chrysler called them back and said that it's probably just leaking oil from a vent on the transfer case and that all they need to do is clean it up and have me continue driving the car to see if the issue persists. I'm starting to get a little worried about the issues I'm going to have as the miles rack up on my car.
