bramfrank
You know. those underlined words in the posts that bring up unrelated pop-ups as you try to read? It's bad enough that those Google ads they have cover the entire screen whenever I click a post, but these 'infolinks' are simply a pain because they open windows as you roll past them. In the old days they'd show you definitions and such, but not all I see are yellow pages ads for lawyers and other unrelated crap. 'Windows' and 'Lawyers' bring up a link for hair removal, 'yellow pages' an ad for YAP, there are nail salons, another was for JC Penny. I particularly like the fact that there is an 'infolink' on this composition page for the phrase 'Dodge Journey' that brings up an ad for Ford pickups. . . . NOT. The Infolink item brings up a suggestion that I 'like' them on Facebook. Not bloody likely. Edited December 16, 2011 by bramfrank
ChrisPollard
I can't recall the last time I've SEEN one of those. Are they on this site? If so, I recommend installing AdBlock Plus for your browser. It shocks me what I see on sites from other people's computers and my own. Ads are an unusual site with that handy little add on. b1pig
there are some forums (like allpar) that have that... and yes... its annoying.
WheelsintheSky
My first observation/comparison of this site was that there are way too many ads! ridiculous actually. I'm a member at TLPLANET and and subaruforester.org and you definately dont find yourself wasting so much time having to constantly navigate around all of the unrelated content. WheelsintheSky
Look up adblock pro and install it. it was free and it completely eliminated all of the ads from this forum.
