caperinmuskoka
Well got my Factory installed hitch installed yesterday....Well sure is different......... pin locks up-ward insead of out. Now I need to find a adaptor to fit my bike rack into the reciever. Also noticed the part of the factory hitch that holds the wiring plug is made for the larger 7- pin tow package. So the dealer just stuck the 4-pin wiring in there and used a ty-rap.....LOL... Looks bad for a install on a brand new 2012 Dodge I need to find a insert for the mount to make it look cleaner. They must make this hitch for many more models to have the 7-pin build right into the hitch ??? My buddy has a 2011 Crew that has I aftermarket 2" hitch and I must say the factory one does look alot Cleaner from the back No large Square tubing being shown.......Except for the cheesey wiring hanging there with a wire ty-rapped.....LoL .............Caper........... generaltso
So the dealer just stuck the 4-pin wiring in there and used a ty-rap.....LOL... Take it back and tell them to do it right. A dealer installed accessory zip-tied to the hitch? That's not cool. Mine came with the 4-pin insert and rubber cap in the cargo compartment with the 4 pin harness, but I know earlier builds weren't coming with them. The part you need is Mopar# 68026722AA http://dodgeparts.mopar.com/dodge/journey-accessories.html

pantheman75
Can you please share some pictures of the installation? My R/T comes in this week and I'd like to see what the vertical hitch installation looks like. Thanks!
