kramer
Hi! I'm from Brasil, and just got a Freemont, the twin brother of the Dodge Journey. Despite my car is not officially a Dodge Journey, we know it's just a Dodge with a Fiat badge, so i hope i could share opinions and learn from you guys. An interesting fact is that the brazilian Freemont is different from the european version, because we also have the Journey available here. In Europe the Freemont is available in diesel and Pentastar versions. No Dodge versions. Here the Freemont is only available in the 4 cylinder version, the Pentastar engine is exclusive to the Journeys, and we don't have the diesel engine on neither of them. At least, the brazilian version has all the perks of the top of line Journeys. Regards, Luciano.
bigtsr
Hi Luciano glad you joined the crowd. Amazing how these marketing wizards go about confusing the consumer with their choices of who gets what. Enjoy your Freemont!
Toy4ever
Hello Luciano, Welcome and congratulations to Your new car. Good choice. It's not easy to understand the politics of the new car models. Here in Europe the brands Chrysler and Dodge are gone to history. The cars are now sold under Fiat and Lancia label. Only Jeep is still jeep, but sold by assorted Fiat dealers. Greetings from Germany, Robert
kramer
Hi bigtsr and Robert I can't see any reason that justify Fiat and Dodge building different versions of Freemont for Europe and Brazil. It would be much more reasonable just sending worldwide the same cars as sold in the USA, just replacing the badges. Go figure.. Thanks for the warm welcome!
