woodymcfc
Hi Folks, recently emigrated to Australia and bought myself a new 2012 Dodge Journey. Had a problem with the uconnect system which turned out to be a loose connection..the gear shifter was sticking when moving to the drive position, parts ordered and waiting to arrive but more concerning is an intermittent issue with the car shuddering when coming to a stop. It feels like the gearbox and only does it when the car has been driven and is warm, and at times is very obvious but when I mentioned it to the service dept they said that they couldnt recreate the problem and that the diagnostics didnt show anything!! Also when I put the car into drive it sometimes feels like the gearbox is going to fall out,a heavy bang when engaging, the service dept.s response to that one was that 'journeys were known to do this, it happened with last years model'......Could anyone shed any light on what could be the problem so when I go next time I could give the experts some idea !!! Thanks in advance........................by the way, really like the car, looks especially but when it drives like I have mentioned its terrible !! bigtsr
I don't recall exactly who posted but they had the clunk/bang shifting into gear from park and they said the dealer found bolts on the tranny not torqued to spec and misaligned. When I first got my DJ it would do it occassionally but it has disappeared as of the last 3-4 months. The brakes have not given me any problem up to almost 10000 kms but when I picked it up new the first thing I did was bedded the brakes then again I have always faired well with regards to wear/tear on brakes.Could be my method of drivimg. wrxz24
Once in a while, there is a clunk that we hear when putting the car into drive but most times it is very smooth. It has 8,000 miles on it.
