jon13000
Ive searched and searched and am still coming up a bit confused. Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding which Mopar wiring harness to get installed. I have found a 7 pin harness from Mopar($270) but am only looking for a 4 pin. Ive got a 2012 Journey SXT AWD without the tow prep package.
probak118
Is the 7 pin not the round style ? If so, all you need do is go to Pricess Auto etc... and buy the roundstyle having the built in adapter that has a 4 prong receiver on the tail end for your trailer. That way, you will also already have a round connection ( trailer brakes) for possible future needs. I just used this type adapter ( round to 4 pin flat) yesterday on a silverado and it worked like a charm.
AstralRT
I also have the same question. Do I need the 4-pin or 7-pin? I have a 2012 Rallye AWD and I don't currently have anything to tow but want the hitch to be prepared. Why would I need one connection type over the other? Thanks. bigtsr
Just as an aid to those looking for trailer items I thought I would add this link for Princess Auto. I have no interest or nothing to gain by posting it but for people looking who don't know about it possibly it will help. They ship to US also. http://www.princessauto.com/pal/category/1100-310-005-030-005/Connectors/adapters
