caperinmuskoka
Well didn't need to buy a smoked hood deflector and paint it. Shop in my small town found one made by Stampede and installed it today. Already had people taking pictures of it before it left the shop. Funny thing is.....I sent Stampede a e-mail asking them about the part number for the Journey with the (-8) added to the end for the CHROME selection , and customer support replied back and told me Chrome was not avaliable for the Dodge Journey. Well there wrong, unless this one was special order, Because it was not cheap. Anyway here the part number 2260-8 sticker under deflector states 2009-2011 Journey, But my is a 2012 ...So the hoods never did change from 09-12. Here two pics for you all. any question just ask.....Thanks.....Wife's loves it. Only one I ever seen.........Caper...... caperinmuskoka
Forgot to tell you no drilling hole.......4 spots under the hood that have double sided Foam tape.........And lots of room to wash between hood and deflector, and to clean out leaves and tree needles if needed..........Caper... bramfrank
If it is adhesive only then it will eventually break free - you might want to look onto ways to make the installation more permanent. How much did it cost? It is very nice.

doubleO7
That really looks sharp!!!!!!!. The only other vehicle that I have seen with a chrome deflector, has been a Chevy Tahoe. I did a search on the internet and found the Stampede website. Can't say I'm impressed with the website. 2012 not listed, and only the smoke hood deflector shown for Journey. So I'm wondering if the shop you deal with got a special order. I would be interesting if you could see the original invoice and it may indicate if it was special order. Wow, if you have the only Dodge Journey with a chrome deflector, thats awsome. I must admit I would love to get one for my Journey when it arrives. But alas, it will probably be a smokey one. I may be emailing Stampede and inquire myself as to the availability of the chrome deflector Edited May 31, 2012 by doubleO7
caperinmuskoka
I did E-mail Stampede just after I got the Journey and got a reply back stating the Chrome is not available for the Journey. I even have the 2011/2012 Canadian tire Special order Catalogue (Keystone as they call it) and the Journey is in there for 2009-2011 but not with the last digit of (8) for Chrome selection. I would be intrested to see other e-mail stampede and as for this part number to see if it is now sold. Part # 2260-8 Caper........... onecrazyfoo4u
Wow, that does look really good. Would be nice if they had an actual part number so we could all order it!
doubleO7
Caper I have e-mailed Stampede today aksing why the website doesn't show the deflector as being available in chrome. I have quoted the part number and indicated that it was from an existing hood deflector that has been installed on a 2012 Journey, with photographs that prove its available. I will interested to see what their response is.
doubleO7
Caper Here is Stampedes answer to my email Hello: Sometimes items have been added to a product line or are available through special order. Give us a call, place the order and we'll do our very best to convince the factory to send you one. Let me see, I want to order the more exoensive hood delflector, which probably has a higher profit margin also, and they have to be convinced? caperinmuskoka
So did you place a order? Sounds like to me it is a perk for the dealers/installers to make a special order......Not for the everyday do-it-your-selve guy... ....Caper..... caperinmuskoka
Anybody have any luck getting one on their own? ......Anybody order one from a dealer? ...Thanks...Caper.. Edited June 30, 2012 by caperinmuskoka
doubleO7
Caper I ended up getting a smoked hood deflector. I wanted to get the deflector right away, and with the Storm grey colour, after much thought, decided the smoke colour went best with this paint choice. I got both the hood and sunroof air delectors in a smoked colour, I do like the chrome ones but at the time could not find them. webslave
CaperI ended up getting a smoked hood deflector. I wanted to get the deflector right away, and with the Storm grey colour, after much thought, decided the smoke colour went best with this paint choice. Ditto here.... It (the chrome looks really good with the chrome surround on the grill, but, having an R/T, mine is body colored (Storm Gray) and the chrome deflector would be the only bit of bling on the front; felt it would look odd. I wish the smoked deflector came in two shades of "smoke" like the window deflectors do...the light gray smoke almost blends in perfectly with the color of the car, but, the light smoke, apparently, is only available on the window visors. That chrome, though, does look sharp on the front end of your Journey!!

hockey_puck
I know this is an old thread. But just found this today on the Autoanything site. Attention Canucks. They have issues with shipping to Canada. They told me this after my floor mats I ordered from them were delivered. http://www.autoanything.com/deflectors/61A6459A0A0.aspx
