All the time but only during idle, especially on the first start in the AM. My previous 2010 3.5 never did.

fooe
It was the first thing i noticed when i traded my 3.5 to 3.6. Just wanted to know if its normal. I have an rt awd 2012 and it makes the noise also. I thought it was the power steering hose or the pump making the noise.
OddJob
Once in awhile I hear a real hi pitched whistle that varies with engine rpm but goes away at idle. Not always. reminds me of a vacume leak but my idle is smooth. Other than that the 3.6 has a very unique idle tone.
Geer
Mine's the same. Stand in front of it while its running, preferably on an incline or crouch down - you will be surprised how loud it is.
