niko
I have the 2011 R/T, i am at the drive-in theatre and with the push button start have it set to the acc. to listen to stereo, well its normal according to the owners manual that the power shuts off at 30 minutes, this is crazy as i was at the dusk to dawn drivein watched 4 movies with family and stereo turned off about 12 times, thats annoying when you are watching a movie because when it shuts off you have to press the push button start to acc. every half hour, called the deal and chrysler Canada and say there is nothing i can do its the way it is, at least with the old journey with the "key" when you put it to acc. the stereo would stay on like any other key ignition car, this is terrible any suggestions would be great thanks. Psyke
Unfortunately I think you hit it on the head; they put in the auto shut off in all modes except for when the engine is running so that you don't accidentally leave the system in acc and kill the battery if you happen to leave the car. While I don't care for the system for the system for the same reason you mentioned, without having to pull a key anymore I've caught myself exiting the DJ a couple of times with the car still running. Doesn't help that the v6 is so freakin quiet Cheers! Steph S.
Mcgusto82
I'LL SAY!! The v6 is ridiculously quite. I've turn the car off trying to turn it "on" a few times. Lol Never thought I'd ever see myself complaining about how quite and smooth an engine is.
onecrazyfoo4u
Same here, been to the drive in twice this year and have to keep turning it back on to ACC every 30 minutes. It's good to not kill the battery but sucks when you're trying to watch a movie!
redtomatoman
What sucks more, pushing the ACC button every thirty mins while at the drive-in theater or figuring out you accidently left the ACC button on for hours and being in need of a jump? I'm going with the latter. I like to play some music at the beach occasionally. It is a hassle to go back to the car to restart the music, but it also serves as a reminder to occasionally restart the car. Six of one, half a dozen of the the other. . . Peace. Paul McCullough
Hello. Does anyone know if in ACC mode with lights off how do dim the dash display? Also how long can these two screens last on battery? I don't want to be stuck needing a jump start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. dhh3
jkeaton
The vehicle is equipped with a battery drain protection feature. It will shut things down if it notices a drain on the battery automatically and turn things off to avoid draining the battery. dhh3
Paul McCullough
Is the battery drain protection feature the 30 min shut off? If so and I keep hitting the power button again to turn it on again for another 30 min and then another will I eventually drain the battery? If so how long would that last? 3 hours or six hours interupted in 30 min intervals? Just wondering. dhh3
dhh3
I would guess that after doing this for a number of times, there would be a point it wouldn't come back on. Whether it would start or not - well, your guess is as good as mine. jkeaton
bramfrank
You don't have to wait for the timer to be triggered. You can press the start button three times quickly every so often to restart the timer and nothing in the vehicle will shut off. dhh3 and Lobitz68
Paul McCullough
It's really no big deal about pressing the button over and over. The only thing is I don't want to end up at a drive in theater needing a boost. Is there an indicator light or something when battery is low? dhh3
bramfrank
90 minutes won't kill a battery in reasonable condition unless, perhaps your headlights are on. dhh3
Lobitz68
Or if you have an aftermarket amplified stereo... 90 minutes could potentially kill your battery then. jkeaton and dhh3
xcaliber81
Notice in acc mode the Guage cluster and master door switch stay lit? dhh3
