AstralRT
I just noticed that when my DJ is first started after 1+ hours parked the rear A/C is blowing hot air even after 5-10 mins idling. After a short drive though it cools down quickly. No concerns with the front A/C howerver as it cools down really quick. Is it normal for the rear A/C to take a long time to cool down and start blowing cold air?
Mcgusto82
No. I think your car has an issue. Take it to the dealer if you're under warranty.
AstralRT
Had my DJ in for its first service and had them check the rear A/C. There tests came back colder than spec. I was told that the reason I experienced a delay in rear cold air was that the A/C unit takes a lot of power to do the initial cool down and the rear A/C system will not get as much power as the front until the vehicle is in motion. This sounded acceptable to me because when I started drive the rear A/C cooled down. Either way I'll be keeping an eye on it just incase.
