Toy4ever
To all Freemont owners with 4.3" Uconnect Chrysler came out with a new update 4 weeks ago. Believe or not, all Problems are fixed! Fiat called all Freemonts with 4,3" in Germany to the Dealers and did the update.
Lebowski
Fiat Spain is unaware, they told me yesterday that there's no further update from the one applied in February (IIRC), in fact they told me that my radio, even when it doesn't start, it works fine. Edit: per chance, could some friendly dealer leak the CD with the update? Edited September 14, 2012 by Lebowski
Toy4ever
The CD for updating the radio is only one part of the package. There is also an update for telephone module, which only can be done by using a special cable and software from Fiat/Chrysler.
Lebowski
Well, I just hope I don't have to travel to Germany to get my radio updated (if, as you say, the update really fixes all problems). Do you know the details of the update (i.e. do they have some reference number like the TSBs posted by DodgeCares)? I could try to send them to the clowns in customer service to see if they react differently this time (which I doubt).
dirceuximenes
here in Brazil, I took mine and they updated, but not noticed any difference.
Lebowski
@dirceuximenes, you have an 8.4 screen, and that has not the same problems plaguing the 4.3.
Lebowski
And now it seems they have an update available.
Armendegga
I'm glad they have fixed some of the issues the radio had. One of the bigger annoyances used to be not being able to choose custom playlists... and the shuffle order remained the same. Hopefully a future update will fix the always playing the last song again. Will be interesting to see how the new system is.
Lebowski
Chrysler came out with a new update 4 weeks ago. Believe or not, all Problems are fixed! Fiat called all Freemonts with 4,3" in Germany to the Dealers and did the update. I'm sorry to say that it doesn't solve all the problems. As I already said in this thread Update done. They also flashed the hands-free and the abs modules. It's too early to say if it solved the problem of the radio not starting, the clock going too fast or the mp3 skipping, but at first sight everything else hasn't improved: When playing an mp3 from the CD it doesn't show the artist name (this feature was broken with the first update, it worked when the car was new). Some mp3s display a bogus duration (either too long or too short, the duration shown changes randomly when switching sources). Only the first 3-4 character of station names are shown. I'm not impressed.
dirceuximenes
Someone managed to update the maps, or put new maps? Thank you.
