Neolithium
Hi All So for the last little while I've been enjoying my new (to me) 2010 DJ SXT - was nice getting back to Dodge after having Nissans for the last few years. My only issue is the brakes which I'm planning on replacing and bleeding in the next couple of weeks for a nice weekend project and lets face it, you want great brakes for Alberta winters I'm just looking for suggestions for new rotors and ceramic pads for my Journey, hopefully I can get a decent consensus from a few people before I head over to part source and stand in front of a giant wall going Eeny Meeny Meiney Mo... 2late4u
if you have advance auto parts stores in canada go to retailmenot.com and click on their coupon codes and buy on line and you will save alot of money also advance also will give 1 free set of pads after they are wore out all the other parts store that sells them wont i always but wagners thremo-quite pads about $54.00 ive been told ceramic pads are harder on your rotors due to the heat they build up but they dont give you the dust problems like reg pads.... goood luck

Looks like the Wagner Thermo Quiet are only around $57 (Front pair) and $59 (Rear Pair), the rotors vary a great deal, anywhere from $40 to $200 but even their cheapest have rave reviews even for brake-eaters like the Dodge Journey. Worth a shot next payday I think for me to try out instead of going straight for the $150/each premium rotors. Forgot to ask if they had a military discount though, could be able to get an extra 5-10% knocked down from that set of prices to boot. Other than switching the pads and rotors, I think the only other thing on my list is whipping the stock crap out and putting some decent DOT4 fluid in there (I'm suspecting I really need to bleed these brakes anyway as they are starting to get spongy). So glad I found this forum, the ideas for my DJ are endless now....my wife may end up hating you guys
black2011
I used a good retailer on eBay named R1 Concepts when I bought rotors for my Chrysler Crossfire. They were drilled and slotted, at a very good price. I also bought the 'posi-quiet' pads which leave little to no brake dust behind. Compared to the partsource quotes I got, even with shipping cross border most of their options are lower priced than them. How's the performance on the setup you bought from them? Pretty much everything on the seller is outstanding feedback leading me to think it could be a worthwhile look into their stuff.

I was looking and drilled/ slotted rotors for my Journey depending on how much the stealer wants for a brake job/ replacement.
