nwaring
Yesterday morning and this morning the oil pressure light has come on. I checked the oil level and it is just above the "safe" mark on the dipstick. The oil has about 3K miles on it. Anybody else have this happen? I assume this would throw a code, looks like another trip to the dealer. Edit...2011 Main Street, V6 with 21000 miles Thanks Edited October 24, 2012 by nwaring

Edit...2011 Main Street, V6 with 21000 miles Thanks Nwaring, There was a service bulletin that may pertain to the oil light issue. I am posting it below. I would suggest a trip to the dealer as an oil light may be caused by low oil pressure which needs to be dealt with right away. Hopefully you only need the TSB flash as indicated. NUMBER: 18-037-11 GROUP: Vehicle Performance DATE: August 02, 2011 SUBJECT: Flash: MIL Illumination For Any P06DE, P054A, P054C, P0298 OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software. MODELS: 2011 (JC) Journey 2011 (JS) 200/Avenger 2011 (RT) Caravan/Town and Country NOTE: This Service Bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engine (Sales Code ERB). SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may experience a MIL illumination. Upon further investigation the Technician may find that any of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes have been set. i. P06DE - Engine Oil Pressure Control Circuit Stuck On ii. P054A - Cold Start Exhaust Camshaft Position Timing Over Advanced Bank 1 Sensor 2 iii. P054C - Cold Start Exhaust Camshaft Position Timing Over Advanced Bank 2 Sensor 2 iv. P0298 - Engine Oil Temperature Too High Reprogramming the PCM will correct the conditions listed above. nwaring
When I go into the info screen it shows the pressure to be around 30 at idol, warm engine and it increases as the rpm increases. It was around 80lbs when it was cold. I'll call the service department. Thanks

nwaring
This past Saturday the light came on again. I got home, shut it down and checked the oil and it was full. I restarted and the check engine came on and when I checked the oil pressure info screen it showed zero. I called the dealer and they gave me the 800# to call Dodge customer service and had it towed to the dealer. Monday they worked on it and it was pumping oil and the codes set were both oil pressure related. They put on a new oil pressure switch and gave it back to me. It is fine so far. Niles.
