Francesco Vigotti
Hi to all, i have a little question.I would like to switch from 19" to 17" for winter tyres, but i don't know if is necessary to change some settings for the automatic transmission.I have a Fiat Freemont , but the automatic transmission is the same, it's the first time i drive a car without a stickshift. Any suggestion? Thnaks Francesco
CCCacher
You don't need to change anything on the vehicle, you just need to ensure that you get the proper size tire. In North America (just in case it is different in Europe), the standard 19" tire is a 225/55/19 and you can switch to a 225/65/17 no problem. ETA: there is a thread going on in the tire section about getting the proper 17" rim to fit so that it doesn't rub on anything. You need part #44753 (or the European equivalent).
