redtomatoman
Hi all- Took my JC into the service department for a flash update for my VR and found out that my vehicle was showing codes for cam phaser replacement. No symptoms prior to this. No issues whatsoever. Anyway, seems to run fine after replacement. Honestly, I don't notice any difference except my gas mileage was slightly lower on my trip to Vegas this weekend. Not sure if these need some break-in time. The slighty worse mileage could have been from a million different things though. They also incidentally found a leak in my thermostat housing which they replaced. My service manager told me that both the cam phasers and thermostat housing leak were common problems in their service department. Just wondering who has had these problems, specifically the cam phaser issue as I find this one a little odd. I took pics of the parts. Service manager told me they had not failed, they were just identified by the computer as faulty or in need of replacement. Peace.
Mcgusto82
You must have an 11 with the 3.6 Early 3.6s had cylinder head/phasers issues that caused misfiring. Worse scenario I know of is, car stalling at speed. Also putting itself on limp mode, and RPMs un able to stabilize at idle. My caravan went thru this early this year. So far, it's been good since march.
CCCacher
Yes, I hate it when my phasers misfire when at warp speed. I'm sure Scotty can fix them. :hysterical2: Sorry, had to post this. :dreamy:
dkwrnr
FYI '11 3.6 also had cam phasers replaced two weeks ago. about 31,000 miles. ran real rough, and stalling, all of the sudden. was told they 'failed', and were replaced under warranty, seems to run fine now, exactly as before. fingers crossed. now if i could only reset the 'oil change required' message.......
