DogSportz
I have what probably is a dumb question  How do you REMOVE the cross bars on the roof rack? I tried the other day, unscrewed them as far as they could go, but the bottom lips were still getting caught on the roof rails and would not come off. I tried pushing in from one side, thinking I could pop one side up, but that didn't work either. Since I adjusted the position of them I don't have wind noise, but since I am not using them, I would like to take them off to reduce "drag". Any little bit helps right? Thanks, Alyssia
Canada_Jay
Hello...Sorry for the delay. Just tried to remove them tonight for you. If you take the hand screws completely out and wiggle the bar you will see the bottom clasp open up and it will give you enough play to remove the cross bars. Hope this helps. crh47
I removed mine no problem. Like CA Jay says, you have to take the screw all the way out. Unless we have to haul something on the roof, mine are staying in the attic.

Thanks, Alyssia In reading the manual. they say postioning the cross bars in slots 4 & 8 (from the front) you will be the most optimum location when not carrying any cargo. I have not remeoved them yet because I have a very short work communte and on longer trips, I figure to need to have them handy... But I may take them off in the winter, when I don;t drive as much, to easy snow removal and cleaning... -- Phil
