oil message always on

From your owners manual:

Oil Change Required

Your vehicle is equipped with an engine oil change

indicator system. The “Oil Change Required” message

will flash in the EVIC display for approximately 10 seconds

after a single chime has sounded to indicate the next

scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil change

indicator system is duty cycle based, which means the

engine oil change interval may fluctuate dependent upon

your personal driving style.

Unless reset, this message will continue to display each

time you cycle the ignition to the ON/RUN position. To

turn off the message temporarily, press and release the

MENU button. To reset the oil change indicator system

(after performing the scheduled maintenance), perform

the following procedure:

1. Without pressing the brake pedal, push the ENGINE

START/STOP button and cycle the ignition to the ON/

RUN position (Do not start the engine.)

2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times

within 10 seconds.

3. Without pressing the brake pedal, push the ENGINE

START/STOP button once to return the ignition to the

OFF/LOCK position.

NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you

start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not

reset. If necessary, repeat this procedure.

And all you've done by posting this information again is to create a situation where the owner may be missing out on (sometimes) interesting and important information.

Easy now. The forum is here for information to flow freely. I'm not aware of any written or implied rule that information cannot be repeated on a forum such as this. Just because you've seen it before doesn't mean it shouldn't be repeated in a current thread. Do I agree with RTFM? Yes absolutely. I read mine and managed to miss some stuff. All retorts such as this do is inhibit future questions for fear of being roasted by some forum regular.

Peace.

I posted the info mainly because it brings a quick conclusion to this thread and it is very useful for any DJ owner who uses a google search to get this info....nothing more annoying than trying to google info and read thread with no conclusion. Also, it was a full copy and paste from the manual so really they are now reading the manual just that i will have to flip the pages for them. :)

It brings something only to the original poster, who was too lazy to read his manual and too lazy to use a search engine, since the data was already posted oin this site and (without checking) certainly available elsewhere on the net.

Like I wrote in the other thread he posted the same question in - give a man a fish and he has a meal. TEACH a man to fish and he can feed himself forever.

I agreed with you until you got rude.

Either way, questioned answered, point made, time to end this show.
