m2j
I would like to know if a 255/50R 19 will be ok to replace my current 225/55 19 tires. Thank you
onecrazyfoo4u
I'm pretty sure a 255 is too wide of a tire for the stock 19" wheels.
riashaw
i've got 255/50 19" on currently - they were no problem to get on the stock rims. they feel a lot nicer, a lot stiffer than the stock tires. the wider tires grip into any groove in the road, so be wary of that if i crank the wheel and back up there is a slight rub - they're not too tall, they're too wide and i think rub slightly against the strut, i'll probably go to a 245 next time i think
onecrazyfoo4u
The diameter seems about the exact same...it's just much wider. The stock 225/55 tire is 8.85" wide. The 255/50 is 10" wide (requires rim width of 7-9"). 245/50 is 9.64" wide. What is the rim width of the stock 19" rims? Do you rub all the time with 255/50/19 tires? Or just when you do full wheel crank left or right?
