jctoolman
Hi, I have a 2009 Journey SE with a 2.4l engine, has 82000 km on it. We've had some pretty cold weather recently and I started to notice that when I started the truck, I would hear a puffing sound, like exhaust puff, coming from just under the drivers seat, I had also noticed my fuel mileage had dropped over the last few weeks too. So I took it into my dealership today and they told me the exhaust manifold had a crack in it. Covered under warranty, so far so good. They're also telling me the resonator AND muffler need to be replaced, to the tune of $800. It seems highly unlikely to me that both need to be replaced with only 80k on the vehicle. I've put in a call to Chrysler Canada because I believe these parts should not have failed so quickly. What is your opinion? Am I being taken for a ride? Should these parts last longer? Thanks for taking the time to read this and respond...
Journey_SeXT
If you feel that you are being duped then take it somewhere else to get it checked out or inspected....just don't mention the dealer said they need to be replaced. Oh and have the warranty work done first by the dealer! jctoolman

Can you send me your VIN, name and dealer name - or case number if provided, via PM and I will be able to look in to this for you if this has yet to be resolved.
