DODGEBOY69
MY JOURNEY CAME WITH KUHMO SOLUS TIRES. I HAVE TIRE MARKS ALL OVER MY DRIVEWAY FROM THEM. I CALLED THE DE3ALER AND THEY SAID ITS A SOFT TIRE AND JUST DONT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE STOPPED. I ASKED WHY I DIDNT GET ANY WARRENTY PAPERS WITH MY PURCHASE AND THEY SAID THE KUMHO TIRE COMPANY WOULD HONER ANY PROBLEMS. WELL I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND CANT FIND NO SUCH COMPANY. ONLY PLACES WHO SELL THEM AND PRICES. NOTHING ABOUT THE WARRANTY. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS
BigCountry
Here is the link to the waranty information from Kuhmo USA. http://www.kumhousa.com/warrantyPCR.do Hope this helps. I have 9400 miles on my Journey and the tires seem pretty darn nice.
sdeveau
The only issue I had with my tires was when the warm weather came and the tires needed some air in them. They chirped at me to let me know. No, not the low tire pressue warning light, the tires actually chirp when they are underinflated and you make a fast turn or are fast off the line. I wonder if putting more air in your tires will help make them a little more rigid and less likely to mark your driveway? I had another Dodge before this one, same tire brand, sooooo soft! I would imagine these are going to need to be replaced before winter hits us again...
BAC
I have an issue with these tyres here in the UK. No-one seems to stock or have a listing for them. They are 225/55/19 99H Kumho Solous KH16. I've tried looking on the net, going to a local tyre dealer, the main Dodge dealer where I bought the car and they are all comming back saying 'They don't exist'. I don't need a tyre right away but as there isn't a spare with the car -just a pump up device- I want to keep a full size spare wheel and tye in the garage to use if needed. I've ordered a new wheel which is £160.00 -quite a good price really as the dealer wanted over £300 for a Neon 15'' wheel a few years ago! I've now contacted UK Chrysler customer services to see what they can come up with. I don't want to be stuck off the road incase one of my tyres blows -or wears out! Cheers! scott4751
They are pretty good tires! Mercedes is using them for OEM Applications as well. Here is a link on their web site for news releases. http://www.kumhousa.com/News.aspx
shotgunner
I put the Kumho tires in the same category as the lead tainted kids toys, poisoned pet food and a host of other things coming from China that is JUNK! First thing I did when I got the new Journey was to take it to my local Discount Tire dealer who gave me $200.00 trade-in on a set of Michelin tires. Now I feel confident when driving, and don't worry about when one (or more) of the junk Kumho tires is going to let go.
BAC
Kumho tyres are Korean. Having spent sometime to Dodge UK and Kumho UK I've had positive feedback and they are getting some of these 225/55/19 tyres into the UK warehouse. Out of interest what are people in the US paying for this size tyre? Here in the UK it was £153 +tax so I'd guess around $200?

Michelin's are overpriced junk and they wear out just as fast if not faster than Goodyear OEM Tires. The worst tire investment I ever made was with Michelin Touring Radials. Lots of road noise and 25K later the wear bars were showing. I purchased a set of Cooper Radials (yeah Cooper) for half the price and double the mileage. I have 10K on my Kumho tires and they wear well, no road hum and handle very well. I also work at a large company and a number of the kids who work here are tuners and the Kumho tires have a pretty good following among them, good price and quality. I guess you really don't know much about them being that they are CHINESE tires...lol

Maybe you don't know a lot about these tires either, but I admit it. Never had a bad Michelin, and I would stack them up against any other brand. Cooper tires have a good reputation, hope you're happy with them.
