Eric
Traded in my 2010 dodge journey R/T yesterday for a 2013 R/T Rallye. When I left dealership it seemed to take a second to go into gear. drove away and few blocks away it started having real harsh gear changes!! then check engine light came on. Went back to dealership and they said just needed a software update done to transmission. Then they came out and said update didn't fix so got a call today saying it needs a new valve body.. feeling kinda sick to stomach! lol... Is this a big thing? or par for the course and just maybe defective from factory. Car was driven about 250km as they had to have it drove in from another dealership. Journey_SeXT
Hmmmm.....only 2 times I had real lemons, one with transmission problems (broke down at 1500km's) and they were both driven in from another dealership. Makes me wonder if they used the valet guy on Ferris Bueller to drive it to the dealership. :D
biohazard
its def not par for the coarse and it looks like a defect from the assembly line. Eric
Yup always buy the extended warranty... but didn't need to extend it too far this time... lol Ya am much more at ease about it now. Hoping its the first and the last problem for awhile. I test drove just about every other AWD vehicle out there and I kept coming back to the Journey. I really liked our 2010. But once drove 2013 on a test drive knew I wanted a 2013. I also had the brake problem with the 2010 so was glad that I didn't have to put new brakes on. Eric, I'm really sorry this happened. Send me a PM with your VIN, Name and Dealer Name and I will investigate with them to ensure that all is correctly addressed. burgandy25
I would return it for a full refund (some dealerships offer 30 day guarantee and such) No way would I take a car that check engine light came on 1 hour after purchase, thats a for-shadow of things to come! Eric
Finally got car back.... Working great. I was considering telling them to find me another car, but this was the only Rallye edition in the colour I wanted with the options I wanted in western Canada so decided to keep. If i find i have more problems with car i will then get out of it. The service manager is very good at dealership and said he went through car completely to make sure it would be problem free. Really like it so far seems like a huge improvement over my old 2010 Journey... going on a long trip in a couple months so will really get to try it out . bramfrank
No rush before buying the extended warranty. You have 20,000 km and 12 months before you would need to pay a surcharge to buy one. We have a local dealer that hosted a group buy who is willing to continue the discount pricing when you decide - you can PM me for their contact details when you are ready. Eric, Happy to hear you got your Rallye back and all is well - I'm still surprised that this happened though and on the behalf of Chrysler Canada Inc. I would like to apologize. If you have any comments, questions or any concerns in the future, please don't be afraid to send me a PM. Have a great day.
