Car shuddering when idling in park or in gear (not in nuetral)

Recommended Posts

I have a 2012 Crew 3.6L. Has 24k miles on it now. Haven't had a single problem to date. Starting a few months ago, the vehicle will shudder quite a bit when sitting at idle while in park or in gear. When in neutral, it doesn't happen for some reason. It happens whether the engine is warm or cold. The RPM's don't jump up and down at all, but you can easily feel it sitting inside. No wierd noises or anything.

Anybody else experience this? Is there a TSB for this issue? Thanks!

There is a STAR case that the dealership should follow when trying to diagnose the issue. It is Case # S1121000011 dated 8/23/11.

A STAR case is created by in house Chrysler techs to help dealer techs get to the bottom certain conditions faster. The case number I have listed refers dealer techs to proceed to diagnose the issue by following certain steps in a detailed order if they cannot easily identify the issue immediately. Any Chrysler dealers service personnel can look up these cases to help them possibly get to the bottom of the issue faster.

Is there any way you can link the details of this STAR case here? I'd be interested to see what the troubleshooting steps are. I haven't seen this problem in any other threads while searching...

Unfortunately, I cannot post STAR case diagnostic procedures as they are considered proprietary information. If it turns into a TSB I will post it, but until then I cannot.
