Sic81
So after trying as many things as i could the hids wouldnt stay on. So i talked to my friend who drives a 2013 dodge ram and has a lot of knowledge with hids. I asked him if had any problems with hids on his truck. He said no and theres a reason why. He said that he always charges up his ballasts before connecting the bulbs. So i did this and bam my hids work with no problems. I have the regular slim digital kit by xantec. So here is what you need to do. Install your bulbs and plug up your ballasts to the factory plug. Then only plug up 1 of the 2 hid bulb wires to the ballasts. Now drive around for atleast 30 minutes with the lights turned on manually. The bulbs will not be on but you will be charging the ballasts. Once you get back home hook up the other wire for the bulbs and put the light switch in auto. I hope this works for everyone like it did for me. bramfrank
Perhaps there's something in the CANBUS that can be fooled into adapting to load changes by implementing new lighting incrementally, but there is no such thing as 'charging up' a ballast.
