billythepunk
Greetings 2009 dodge journey, When the Ac runs for any amount of time over 10 minutes or so, the vehicle starts to sputter, occasionalk check engine light comes on, have had it checked comes back as a fuel injector error. I doubt this is true, in my experience a fuel injector is either good or bad, clogged or not. This seems to be a conditional error since it only occurs when the AC is on. My initial though was MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) apparently this car does not have a MAF so that obviously cannot be the issue. The closest I can come to describing the feel of the sputter is like a Clogged Cat Converter. After the car has been turned off for say 30 minutes to an hour the light goes off an car drives fine. Anyone have any ideas?
Journeyman425
Fuel injectors are controlled by the PCM. If the fault code is for fuel injector control circuit, it should also say for which injector the fault is stored. Inspect the wiring in the harness to the injector. You are correct in that most times an injector is either faulty or working. But you might have a wiring or connection issue to that injector. Look for signs of rodent nesting under the hood - acorn shells, small twigs, droppings, etc. I've seen plenty of chewed wiring from rodents. There may be an internal error in the PCM control circuit for the injectors also. I assume you have checked the basics already like plugs and coils even though the fault is injector-related.
