Spartacus
Hi, I have a 2010 DJ R/T awd. I think it has the tow package as it came with a ball hitch and 4 pin plug installed. I am looking at buying an old fiberglass camper trailer with a dry weight of about 1850lbs, but the trailer is low and the hitch on the DJ is much too high. I thought it would be simple to find a lower hitch, but it is vertical and I can't find them anywhere. Canadian Tire doesn't carry any, the Travel Land RV dealer told me I would have to order from the Dodge dealer, and the dealership don't seem to understand what I'm asking for at all... I searched online and the only class III vertical hitches I've found have a 2-1/4" rise. I will need straight (0" rise) ball mount. Does anyone know where to find this? NorthStar1
Perhaps this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/390589011247?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 or are you looking for zero rise like this? http://www.leeparts.com/dodge_journey/accessories/towing/hitch_receiver.html Don't look at the picture...click on "Installation Instructions" on that page to see what it actually looks like. Hope this helps.
Spartacus
Wow! That's a $200 ball mount! Thanks for the link, they also have a vertical to horizontal adapter that may work.
generaltso
I think an adapter will be your best bet. Then you can just use a regular zero rise (or even drop) ball mount. This is the one that I have: http://www.amazon.com/Manufacturing-45013-Vertical-Receiver-Adaptor/dp/B003721BVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371128533&sr=8-1&keywords=vertical+hitch+adapter
Spartacus
Thanks. I found a welder who custom made what I need for $65.
