Electronic Throttle Control

Recommended Posts

My journey has been acting up lately, first off the over flow tank cracked, then we replaced it, and the temperature keeps rising, so thinking that the thermostat is sticking. Then we come to the problem of the electronic throttle control light coming on. It doesn't blink, it just stayed on. Went out a few minutes later started the car and it went off. What are the suggestions of getting this fixed?

Thanks.

The Electronic Throttle Control light will only illuminate while driving if the system detects a malfunction in it. If the malfunction corrects itself, the light will go off by itself. Sometimes, if the light illuminates and stays on, you can reset it by cycling the ignition off, then restarting the car. If the problem continues, have it checked out at a dealer. Usually a malfunctioning electronic throttle will allow the car to be driven to a dealer, sometimes under reduced power and with limited transmission shifting. I would have it checked out if it happens again.
