Mattyj724
I cannot find the tounge weight of the 2010 journey but i know my hitch is 400LBS. my boat in its current config. ( 3/4 of a 28gal tank of fuel) the tounge weight is 260lbs. When towing her, it preformed really well but the ass end is squating too much for me. Has anyone upgraded the rear end suspenison? i heard about air bags you can add on, but etrailer does have any for the journey. thoughts? By the way i do not have the trailer prep package, i added my own hitch and wiing..
Official Dodge Support DodgeCares Posted June 13, 2013 Official Dodge Support Report Share Posted June 13, 2013 The tongue weight should be based on the amount the trailer you are pulling weighs. Assuming you are not towing more than the max tow weight, the tongue weight should be between 10%-15% of the trailer weight. See below. Tongue WeightThe tongue weight is the downward force exerted on thehitch ball by the trailer. In most cases, it should not be lessthan 10% or more than 15% of the trailer load. You mustconsider this as part of the load on your vehicle.

Official Dodge Support DodgeCares Posted June 13, 2013 Official Dodge Support Report Share Posted June 13, 2013 That information should be on the sticker by the driver side door latch. Vehicle Certification LabelYour vehicle has a Vehicle Certification Label affixed tothe rear of the driver’s door. The label contains the following information:• Name of manufacturer• Month and year of manufacture• Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)• Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) front• Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) rear• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) • Type of Vehicle• Month Day and Hour of Manufacture (MDH)The bar code allows a computer scanner to read the VIN.
