Rubberdude88
Here is the next appearance mod I am planning to do. Painting the chrome grill surround to match the body. I am going to have the piece dealer painted for a couple of reasons. Has anyone done this to their DJ? Any pics? We have the Brilliant Red TC Pearl just like the pic below. Think it should look pretty good as I am going for a black and red "theme" keeping chrome to a minimum - not that there's anything wrong with chrome :punched: Let me know what you think of the idea. Cheers.
rolly
That will look sweet and distinctive!!!!
webslave
It would look just like the R/T front ends... The R/T comes with the body color grill frame and cross-hair. In fact, you may find that the R/T bezel in that color may be cheaper than taking your chrome one off and painting it. Would probably hold up better (stone chips in the paint will show the chrome underlayer), too. Just a thought.
davidlb512
webslave makes a very good point! The R/T's grill is just painted to match the color of the car, instead of chromed, then painted. The chrome isn't really an ideal painting surface.
bigtsr
Looks nice and of course anything is possible if you go about in the proper manner, remember it's all in the prep and prime as to how tough and nice the finish is on the end result. davidlb512

I purchased my 2012 Dodge Journey R/T new and it never came with a painted to match grille. Mine is chrome. Unless its only 2013's that now come like that?
