lnghrn67
I am looking to buy a Journey. When I mentioned that I wanted tinted glass, I was told that it was tinted - Solar Control Glass. The salesman told me that they all come with Solar Control Glass from the factory and that the deep tint sunscreen or even the sunscreen glass is done at the dealer. Anyone know if this is true? bigtsr
The DJ as offered here in Canada all come with deep tint glass in the rear passenger/cargo area, the windshield, drivers and front passenger windows have a lighter solar tint. Having said that there is the one base model CVP (Canadaian Value Package) that all windows are light solar tint only.
Mcgusto82
The AVP (us) and CVP (Canada) models aren't tinted glass. If by tinted, you mean dark. And it's only on the rear doors, 3rd row, and gate glass.

srk23
my r/t came with 20% tint only in the rear passengers 2nd&3rd row + tailgate glass, all other windows have no tint at all since its against the law in BC to have the front driver/passenger windows tinted at all
Mcgusto82
Most states in US allow up to 35% tint up front, and 15% of top of windshield to be tinted as dark as you want. However, I've never seen a new car with any dark tint on the driver or front pass glass. I think most manufactures consider it a safety/legal, hazard/liability and just stay away from it. But that of course doesn't stop people from putting 5% all around. Lol.
srk23
lol yeah thats true. I see a lot of people everyday with anywhere from 95% tint to 20% on the front driver/passenger windows even though its illegal here and in most other provinces in Canada, but some cops don't care/enforce it as much as other. As soon as I cross the border into Sumas, WA I see CBP and local police + regular citizens with 5% tint all around on their vehicles.
