dhanna
I have a 2012 DJ SE plus 4 cylinder 35K. My DJ has been in the shop around 12 times over the last 3 months to address an intermittent vibration in the steering wheel at around 100-110 km/hr. I have also experienced steering wheel oscillation at varying speeds while braking. I replaced the tires at a cost of $900.00. The dealership has replaced the front rotors, the long axle on the right side, repeated wheel balances and a wheel alignment. The problem still persists. They are unable to identify the problem. The dealership informs me that is it ok to drive. I have asked repeatedly if it is "safe" to drive as the cause is unknown, they are unable to tell me that it is safe as cause is unknown. Dodge Canada has informed me that it is running with in new vehicle parameters. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time Edited September 9, 2013 by dhanna
burgandy25
we have this on our 2010 and don't know what is causing it either. Guessing brakes. Going to replace the brake discs, pad, and shoes.
bigtsr
The logical things would be warped rotors , disc pads hanging up , bent rim and tire with distorted/broken belts.
Unhappy Dodge owner
I just created a topic for the same problem. My vibration starts at 55-60 and gets worse the faster I go. I purchased mine July 4 th and have had 4 sets of new tires and a new set of rims since then. It's definitely not tires. I am FED UP and ready to call an attorney! Toy4ever
I had same vibrations on my 2012 Freemont, I took it to the dealer, because the front brake rotors were warped again. While they replaced the rotors, the mechanics also diagnosed a problem with the front hubs and bearings. They wanted replace the hubs, but Fiat denied this. So I only got new rotors and went back on the road. The vibrations while braking are gone, and on 100-110 km/h it's about 90% less than before. I believe, the reason for the vibrations is a combination of warped rotors and bad hubs.
