Valter J Sabater
Hello. I have a Fiat Freemont. The version with a 6-speed gearbox, that I'm almost sure, it's the same gearbox of Dodge Journey. My car is with about 4600km only. I started noticing this noise yesterday. Could you please check on yours, if the have the same behavior? The noise comes from the gearbox, and I can even feel the vibration of the sound, from it. thank you. redtomatoman
Sounds like a loose pedal to me. I do not have that sound on my 2011 DJ. I'm assuming that you have crawled under the dash to take a look and see nothing. Warranty. Good Luck. Peace.

bigtsr
Well I have never heard it that loud but one thing that actuates when you step on the brake is the shift lever locking solenoid. It is located in the console and it sounds as if it has come loose , it is accessible thru the console in the storage area.
Maverick24
I have this sound on my 2013 Dodge Journey Crew.. I don't think mine is that loud though, could just be the video audio. But i would agree with bigtsr, that sound is the locking solenoid which stops you from shifting out of park unless you have your foot on the brake. Mcgusto82
It's the shifter locking solenoid. It's awfully loud.
