dethdeks
so i have an '09 journey sxt awd and it has the fake chrome on the grill which is starting to bubble.is there a way to remove this "chrome" without ruining the plastic underneath. i want to paint it but i dont want to paint it with the bubbles. and i think if i pop the bubbles and peel them off it will leave a divot. TIA
jkeaton
Yeah, you're either going to have to sand it down to the plastic underneath or buy another one.
Addicted to Dodge
You could try a hair dryer. But as J said, just wet sand it with some 400 grit and paint over it. Adhesion Promoter comes in a can and it really helps when painting plastic. I did the grill on my Chevy truck about 3 yrs ago and it still looks great. Or you can always Plasti Dip it if you don't want to use paint. If you don't like it just peel it off!!
DTSGUY
I have a grill for you if you need a replacement. Here is a link to it. It says I wont ship it to anyone but that's for the spammers. Let me know if you want it. http://cosprings.craigslist.org/pts/4292673911.html
